This past Saturday was Red Fire Farm’s famous Tomato Festival. There was an abundance of delicious and award-winning tomatoes to taste, a 5K Tomato Trot, music, food, art, and demonstrations. We were happy to participate again this year (and to do more tomato sampling!). Ben was a featured guest and prepared his popular Emmer with Tomato Basil Sauce and Baby Kale Salad to a very appreciative crowd. You can find the recipe and video in the previous post. Ben also lead a workshop on Grain Milling for Home Use. He demonstrated the use of electric and hand mills for milling wheat, corn, and various grains. He also spoke in-depth about the benefits of consuming fresh, local grains both for personal health and the health of local communities. The great news is we video taped the workshop and we’ll soon have it available on the this website. We’ll keep you posted.
