Saturday May 14th from 12-3pm I’ll be teaching this baking class where we’ll be raising money for refugees and those in service of the refugees from the war in Ukraine via partnership with World Central Kitchen. They are there on the ground helping and distributing substantial aid to those in need and we can help!
Pretzels are an ancient staple throughout Europe and in Ukraine it remains a huge part of the food culture. I’ll be teaching an adaptation of a pretzel recipe from an inspirational Ukrainian Baker Bogdan Krasnoperov of Kharkiv. Follow along as we learn some of the history of pretzels, make a cheesy dipping sauce (and bacon bits, optional) and make pretzels from our fresh local flours in this 3 hour long class that will take you from start to finish.
Lots of ideas for variations will be included as well as some detailed instruction on how to use fermentation to make better baked goods and have flexibility in the fermentation schedules to use to adapt any recipe to suit your schedule and desired taste profile.
