Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies
Based on historical texts, cookies seem to have originated in the 7th century AD in Persia, where the use of sugar had become common. Cookies made their way to the United States by the 1700s by way of the Dutch, whose word “koekje” was anglicized into cookie. Easy to make and whipped up in a matter of minutes, you can’t argue with a cookie. As long as your leavener is fresh and sifted, and you mix your dry ingredients well before combining with the wet, you’ll have great results time after time. Cookie dough keeps well in the freezer to be baked off whenever you crave. Dough can be stored in a freezer bag either in a log or a flat rectangle, depending on your desired shape. They can also be portioned individually before freezing.
